MILWAUKEE RIVER WORK GROUP, Milwaukee, WI
STUDIO 1032 worked with the Friends of Milwaukee River to present a Ten Year Vision to create a walkable river as a natural green corridor for the City of Milwaukee with protected habitat and vegetative areas and natural recreational opportunities in the urban setting. The Milwaukee River Work Group prepared an overlay district with design guidelines to protect the river bluff, enhance stormwater retention and management, establish natural habitats and vegetation and forestry conservation areas, while restoring pathways and improving access and wayfinding. STUDIO 1032 prepared a logo of stewardship later adopted by UWM Students working for Community Design Solutions and MRWG. STUDIO 1032 assisted in visual presentations, public charrettes, and ongoing consultation on overlay design guidelines.
